Karim Adeyemi of Borussia Dortmund has given Chelsea a significant advantage in their transfer pursuit of him. In recent days, the Germany international has been associated with the Blues as Enzo Maresca searches for fresh players ahead of the 2024–2025 campaign. With a valuation of approximately £25 million, the 22-year-old has only been at Dortmund for two years after signing from RB Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga in 2022. However, he may depart Signal Iduna Park this summer as they reorganize their forward options.
Chelsea and Dortmund are reportedly negotiating regarding an Adeyemi summer transfer, according to German publication Bild. After missing over eight weeks of action due to an ankle injury midway through the season, the 22-year-old had a difficult season in Germany. Adeyemi only had seven goal contributions from his 34 games across all competitions, but he did play a significant role in Dortmund’s march to the Champions League final.
Enzo Maresca’s summer transfer spree continues
Liverpool and Chelsea are both interested in signing the 16-year-old, but Chelsea appears to be getting an early advantage in the race to sign the teenager. The acquisition of Adeyemi, who is most effective when used on the left side of the front three, may cast doubt on Raheem Sterling or Mykhailo Mudryk’s futures.
In the unlikely event that Sterling leaves Stamford Bridge, two years after joining from Manchester City, the number seven shirt would be empty. Should Adeyemi decide to relocate to West London, the seven-numbered shirt that has been donned by N’Golo Kante, Ramires, Andriy Shevchenko, and Didier Deschamps throughout the years might make an ideal welcome present.
