Everton To Swoop Up West Ham Teenager

Everton are sizing up a swoop for West Ham United youngster, Reece Oxford.

The 19-year-old has shown signs of frustration due to the lack of first-team minutes. Teams like Manchester City and Borussia Mönchengladbach are monitoring the centre-back but Oxford is ready to move out of West Ham permanently.

A couple of seasons back, the youngster was talked about in high praises but unfortunately, his development has slowed down recently. Oxford struggled to establish himself during his previous loan spells with Reading and Mönchengladbach and has only appeared in two games for the Hammers this term.

With players like Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop, Matheu Balbuena, Winston Reid and Declan Rice in the squad, it is unlikely that Oxford’s situation will change anytime soon under Manuel Pellegrini.

He is a graduate of the Hammers academy and does have time on his hands to develop into a starting figure. He also could help Everton fulfil their quota of homegrown players.

However, regular game time might not be guaranteed at Goodison Park either. The Toffees have taken an aggressive stance in the transfer market to bring in big names in order to match strides with the elite English sides.

Oxford might not provide Silva with the immediate star power that he requires or offer much improvement to the Everton defence.
