Robbie Keane had scored 107 goals when he decided to swap Tottenham for Liverpool in 2008. While the move did go through, the controversy started sometime later when the Lillywhites filed a complaint against about the Reds’ conduct.
Keane scored 5 goals in 19 games for Liverpool before Rafa Benitez allowed him to rejoin his former club in January. Keane’s return post-Liverpool spell wasn’t that impressive; he scored 15 goals in 52 games for Tottenham.
