Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey is set to undergo Summer surgery on the thigh injury that kept him out for three months of the season.
The Welshman, who was superb this year despite missing a hefty period, injured himself during the Christmas period when The Gunners beat West Ham United 3-1 at Upton Park, and despite scheduled to be fit inside two months, the midfielder kept having lapses and eventually missed an extra month before coming back and guiding them to their first trophy since 2005.
Due to a couple of setbacks to his thigh, manager Arsene Wenger is keen for him to get the problem solved ahead of next season and he has adviced him to have surgery to make sure he is fighting fit for next year.
This surgery may mean the Welshman will miss most of pre-season, but in the long-run it will be positive news for Arsenal, who offered the midfielder a bumper new deal earlier this year worth around £90k-a-week.
