We only reported a day or two ago that Arsenal were hot favourites to sign the disgruntled Petr Cech from Chelsea. Now it seems AC Milan have got in on the act.
32-year-old Cech has not been happy since the signing of Thibaut Courtois in the summer, and has not started a league game since. He is clearly unhappy at being the No.2 at Stamford Bridge after nearly a decade of service to the Blues.
Milan have goalkeeping problems themselves, with the error-ridden Diego Lopez, having come from Real Madrid, still causing concern after six months at the San Siro.
Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, and Besiktas are all said to be interested in Cech, but Arsenal were favourites citing a £7million deal. It now looks like Milan boss, Filippo Inzhagi is willing to match any offer from North London.
32 is still a young age for a top goalkeeper, and with Cech having already won everything there is to offer in the English Premier League, maybe he might feel it is time for one last big move across Europe before hanging up those big gloves.
