AC Milan move for Fernando Torres

Chelsea forward Fernando Torres has emerged as one of AC Milan’s top targets, as they look to replace the outgoing Mario Balotelli. According to reports in Italy, the Spanish striker is now the number one player that Milan want to replace Balotelli.

The 30-year old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for most of the summer, after Jose Mourinho signed both Diego Costa and Didier Drogba in his position. Now, he may finally be able to leave Stamford Bridge, after his torrid time at the club.

AC Milan are were chasing Jackson Martinez as a replacement for Balotelli, who is close to joining Liverpool. However, they are getting no closer to a move for the Colombian and instead they are now planning to bid for Torres, who is not needed by the Blues.

They could pick the forward up quite cheaply too, with a fee of around ÂŁ12m believed to be acceptable, but they face competition from Roma, who have also recently declared an interest in Torres. Plus, Roma have something that Mourinho wants in Mattia Destro. This means that a potential swap deal could take place between the two clubs.

But, AC Milan won’t go down without a fight and they will do all they can to try and sign the forward. But, if they do end up missing out on the him, they do have a list of backuptargets, that includes Javi hernandez of Manchester United.
