Serie A champions to ask kit sponsors to help finance the transfer

Juventus could ask their new kit sponsors to help them sign Mesut Ozil from Arsenal this summer.

The Old Lady have just signed a new kit dealership with Adidas, ending their long-term association with Nike, and ahead of the next season, they may ask the sponsors to help them sign a mega-star.

Juventus Interest in Ozil

Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri has been monitoring Ozil for the past few months and is a huge admirer of the German international, who has helped Arsenal achieve back-to-back FA Cup trophies, but his whopping price-tag may have put the Italian side off.

The Gunners splashed ÂŁ42.5million on the play-maker when signing him from Real Madrid back in 2013, and it’s thought the North London club wouldn’t want to make much of a loss on that investment.

Allegri wants to build on last season’s success at Juve by adding world-class players to his squad, and Ozil is just one of the players he wants to bring in.

Adidas Bait

However, with Arsenal reluctant to sell and Juve unable to afford his transfer fee outright, the Serie A champions could use their new sponsors as part of the deal.

According to reports in Italy, Juve will ask Adidas to finance the move as they represent Ozil as well as the Italian club.

Juventus agreed a six-year deal with Adidas, worth just shy of ÂŁ100million, and they want them to help secure a mega-deal for Ozil, who is one of their landmark names.

Despite asking for help from the sponsors, it doesn’t look likely this deal will be feasible as Arsenal do not want to sell their star-asset.
