Cherries reach the top flight with emphatic win over Bolton Wanderers

AFC Bournemouth have secured promotion to the Barclays Premier League, following a 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Dean Court on Monday evening.

The Cherries knew that a win would secure promotion, due to their far superior goal-difference to third placed Middlesbrough, on a historic night on the south-coast.

Bournemouth confirmed promotion to the top-flight with the three points, following slip ups from their nearest rivals on Saturday, with Middlesbrough and Norwich City both failing to record victories.

First-half goals from Marc Pugh and Matt Ritchie shortly before half-time sent Eddie Howe’s men on their way, before Callum Wilson wrapped up an emphatic win for the club.

The result against Neil Lennon’s club caps an amazing revival for Bournemouth, who just six years ago were on the brink of relegation from the Football League.

Cherries join the Hornets

Bournemouth will join Watford in the top flight next season, after the Hornets secured their return to the Premier league following a 2-0 win away at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday lunchtime, courtesy of goals from Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra.

Congratulations to the Cherries from all at sillyseason!
