Aiden McGeady rejected a contract extension with Spartak Moscow and will be available for free transfer next summer. McGeady has been at Spartak Moscow has been at the club for 3 years making 70 appearances scoring 11 goals. Everton have shown interest in Aiden however so have Aston Villa & Fulham.
Aiden McGeady said: “When I am with the Ireland squad sometimes I look at the guys who are playing in England and feel a bit jealous.”
“I feel I could be in the back of people’s minds now, that I could be forgotten about. People ask me:’Where are you playing now?’ ‘Oh you are still there?'”
“I have made no secret of that fact that one day I would like to play in England. I would be disapointed if I never get the chance to do that. I didn’t think I would be here this long, I didn’t see myself being here longer than a couple of years. But no football looks four or five years ahead.”
