Arsenal player Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be out of action from 6 to eight weeks due to a fracture on his left fibula. Maitland-Niles sustained the fracture during Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Manchester City and was subsequently subbed off in the 35th minute.

The 20-year old started as left-back in the match against Manchester City. Fellow left-back Sead Kolasinac is also out injured and will not return to training before October. Laurent Koscielny and Carl Jenkinson are also among the defenders who are injured. The Gunners still have some options for left-back. One of them is Nacho Monreal who is in full training according to the club.

Danny Welbeck was also deployed as a left-back in one of the club’s training sessions.

Arsenal have already begun their season poorly with a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City. Their next fixture will be another daunting task as they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea began the season well with a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
