Ronaldo also admitted that he is expecting to retire once he has departed Al-Nassr.
Al Nassr gives a big hint on future of Ronaldo in the Middle East. The Portugal International will see his contract expire next summer. The Saudi Pro League giants may offer him a contract extension.
As per reports, Al Nassr have opened discussions with Cristiano Ronaldo over a new deal at the club. The 39-year-old joined the club in the winter of 2023 as free agent after breaking ties with United.
The Portugal international has scored 64 goals and 17 assists in 71 matches for Al Nassr. He has six goals and two assists in seven appearances this season. Ronaldo’s current deal with Al-Nassr is due to expire in June 2025.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, discussions have been opened over an extension to his current contract. Ronaldo wants to play the FIFA World Cup 2026 and it will be his final event.
Ronaldo also admitted that he is expecting to retire once he has departed Al-Nassr. He said, “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years… but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr,” Ronaldo told NOW. “I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue.
“When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one.
“Right now what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play. At the moment, I’m not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team.
“It doesn’t even cross my mind, I’ve never thought about it. I don’t see my future going through that. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds.”
