Alan Pardew given two games to save job

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been given just two games to save his job at St James Park.

The Magpies have had a slow start to the Premier League campaign, drawing two games and losing the other, and owner, Mike Ashley, is growing frustrated with Pardew and could sack him for the slow start.

Newcastle lost the first game of the season to Manchester City, which has then been followed up by two draws, against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, which means the club have only picked up 18 points from a possible 66 in 2014.

Pardew signed an eight-year deal at the club back in 2012, but fortunes have turned sour recently and Ashley is growing frustrated with the poor run of form.
