Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has slammed Arsenal for their ill-timed offer for midfielder Yohan Cabaye and has even suggested that the club’s loss to Manchester City is because of the offer for the French midfielder.

Pardew’s men got thumped 4-0 by City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night and after the game, the Newcastle manager admitted that the offer put in by The Gunners made Cabaye un-fit to play mentally.

The Toon boss admitted that after hearing about the offer, Cabaye was not mentally fit to play the game and the manager is not happy with the timing of Arsenal’s bid.

After the game Pardew said:

“You prepare for three days with a player of that talent and that was taken away from us because we were shown disrespect from Arsenal on the eve of the game. They could have bid when the game was over and it had a huge effect on the game”.

Although the ÂŁ10million offer has not been officially rejected by Newcastle, it is believed that they will turn-down the bid quickly as they don’t intend to sell the Frenchman.
