Alan Rough has said that the Europa League draw against Valencia is good for Celtic.

The former Hoops goalkeeper is confident that they can get the better of the Spanish side in the round of 32 tie.

Former Celtic custodian Alan Rough has said that the draw against Valencia in the Europa League is good for Celtic. The former Hoops player is confident that Brendan Rodgers’ Scottish Premiership title-winning side can get the better of the Spanish side in the round of 32 tie as they progress to the next round.

Speaking to PLZ soccer, the former Celtic shot-stopper said, “They haven’t got a team who are in form and they have won only three of their 16 league games. We all know the history: they are a good side and they are playing betting quality than we have in our league, so there are quality players.”

He added, “Celtic will have to improve, especially after the midweek game, and when you are at European level, you have to improve your own game.”

The Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has not been able to inspire his team to the top position this season in the Scottish Premiership and has an acute dearth of top quality strikers with the experienced marksman Leigh Griffiths choosing to drop out of the side due to personal problems. Now it is to be seen whether they can progress from the round of 32 to the next round after being drawn against the Bats.
