Alan Shearer Criticises Manchester United

Alan Shearer has blasted Manchester United hierarchy over the current situation at the club. The former Newcastle United forward thinks the club is in a sorry state and things need to change soon.

There have been ongoing problems for both Jose Mourinho and the squad. United’s failure to bring enough reinforcements in the summer has had a contrasting effect on Mourinho who seems to be very annoyed with executive Vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Also, his relationship with players with the likes of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba has been questioned and the result is pretty visible. United lost their last match against Brighton & Hove Albion and are scheduled to face a mighty Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

Shearer thinks the players are not doing enough on the pitch to back their manager. “It was inevitable that dominance would decline once Sir Alex Ferguson lifted the Premier League in his final season.

“There has been no real title challenge and now, just two games into the season, it seems there is chaos behind the scenes and a total lack of leadership from the top.

“At arguably the biggest club in the world, the executive vice-chairman, one of the best managers in the game and a star-studded array of players are simply not pulling in the same direction.

‘This sort of public shambles would never have been allowed to happen under Fergie and David Gill. It was the United way or you were out.”
