The Belgium star is not sure about his future with Tottenham Hotsuprs.

Toby Alderweireld was one of the reason due to which Belgium finished on 3rd place in the World cup but the 29-year old Belgian defender is unsure of his future with the Spurs for the upcoming season.

The reason for his unsurety is because he was used less by the Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino last season.

The central defender had an impressive World cup as he was a mainstay of Belgium’s run to the semi-finals where he played for 90 minutes and the match resulted in Belgium’s favour.

The player was used in just 14 times in the Premier League as he was returning from a hamstring injury.

Talking to Nieuwsbald, the player said, “I really do not know anything yet. In my head I just go to Tottenham. We will see,”

“I was very focused on [the World Cup]. I wanted to prove something again. Show that the period before the tournament in which I did not play – for whatever reason – was unjustified. I wanted to show that I am still the same Toby as in November” he added.

“I was happy that I could still play four or five matches for the World Cup. I immediately had a good feeling. Physically there was no problem, because it was just my only major injury from my career. I spent only three or four months [injured] in my entire career”

The player ended his interview by saying, “I have to touch wood, but I cannot complain about that. I’m glad I could come back in this way.”

Alderweireld joined  Tottenham Hotsuprs on a five-year contract which runs until the summer of 2020. The transfer fee was estimated to be £11.5 million. He has represented Spurs for 3 -years in over 115 games and scored on 6 occasions.

Tottenham finished 3rd last season with just 3 points behind Manchester United.
