Alex Iwobi may not be able to find the net pretty often but his influence in the Arsenal team cannot be ignored. The youngster has become an inevitable part of the core setup and has given all the credits to his boss Unai Emery for the revival of his career.

Arsenal brushed off Watford 2-0 in the Premier League as they registered their seventh win in a row in all competitions. Iwobi didn’t make the starting lineup but came on to have an impact as he laid both the goals.

His low cross from the right flank caught Craig Cathcart in an awkward position and the defender put it into his own net to give an advantage to the home side. Iwobi was against involved as he made his way through the right channel to tee off Ozil with a pinch perfect cross which was nodded home by the German to seal off the game.

Iwobi said, “I’m more positive and more confident with the ball.

“The boss has basically told me that if something doesn’t work, just keep going and don’t dwell on it.

“He’s told me to stop being so critical and to just keep trying no matter what happens, no matter if things don’t go as I want them to.

“That’s given me a lot more confidence to try a few more things, like beat a player, to shoot more. I’m always ready to get on the ball a bit more, so I guess it’s helped in that sense.

“I’ve lost a bit of weight because of the intense training and I think it’s made me a bit sharper.”
