Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi has recalled a ‘scary’ time when he was followed in a car by an Arsenal fan after a game for 15 minutes.
The 20-year-old, who has cemented down a regular spot in Arsene Wenger’s side this year due to a number of impressive performances, has had to learn some of the trappings of a high-profile footballer.
Iwobi also revealed that he has experienced ‘a lot of crazy things’ with fans of the club, before telling the story of the time he was followed from the Emirates.
Speaking to the Arsenal weekly podcast, he said: “I remember the last home game we played.
“For 15 minutes there was one fan following me and I was getting a bit scared.
“I was getting close to my destination.
“I was thinking, I’m going to have to do a detour before I get to my destination before he ends up finding where I’m going.
“That was a bit mad.”
Iwobi has linked up with the Nigerian national team in the course of the international break, during which he has bagged his first goal for his country.
