FC Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has confirmed that he will return to the Premier League one day, with David Moyes’ Manchester United interested in signing him.

The former-Arsenal holding-man left the Emirates Stadium alongside Robin Van Persie, but he has struggled to get first-team football at the Nou Camp and is keen on making a swift return to England due to the lack of game-time.

The 26-year-old is having to battle it out with the likes of; Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas for a starting spot in Barca’s midfield, and due to the heavy competition, Song’s game-time has been limited ever since his arrival in Spain.

Talking in a recent interview, he has admitted that a move to England will be something that interests him later in his career.

“If I leave Barcelona it will be to return to the Premier League.

“I will return to England one day, that’s for sure.”

The Cameroon international was then asked about his relationship with former-boss Arsene Wenger, and the midfielder admitted that he never wanted to leave Wenger’s side.

Song added: “He was like a father to me.

“He spoke a lot with me when I arrived to Arsenal.

“I wanted to renew my contract with Arsenal but in that case I would have regretted not joining Barcelona.

“Barcelona are the best side in the world.”
