Striker hit with injury hours after Liverpool bid
Shakhtar Donetsk striker Alex Teixeira has suffered a hamstring injury just hours after Liverpool made a formal bid for him.
The Brazilian international was subject of a ÂŁ25million bid from the Reds, but unbelievably just hours after the bid was made, it was revealed that he suffered a hamstring injury.
Liverpool aren’t the only side interested in Teixeira, with Chelsea also keen on signing him, but with Shakhtar‘s asking-price still too high, both clubs look likely to leave it.
However, a potential transfer could be in even more jeopardy now after it was revealed that he’s suffered a hamstring injury.
The news comes with Liverpool suffering several injuries themselves currently and it’s lead to people joking about the problem at Anfield.
The 26-year-old picked up the injury during a training session, and a journalist confirmed the news via Twitter and had to express how it wasn’t a joke.
Hamstring Injury
“Alex Teixeira pulled his hamstring soon after Liverpool made a bid. This is not a joke. Repeat, this is not a joke,” he wrote.
“It happened during his last training with Shakhtar in USA a few hours before Ian Ayre got on the plane.”
Jurgen Klopp will forever hate the word hamstring.
