Alexander Isak has bluntly expressed his disappointment after Liverpool suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, conceding a winning goal deep in stoppage time for the second consecutive Premier League weekend.
Alexander Isak Describes Last-Minute Defeat as ‘The Worst Feeling

The loss marks Liverpool’s third in a row across all competitions, causing the team to surrender top spot in the league table to Arsenal.
Speaking to the club’s media after the final whistle at Stamford Bridge, Isak did not hide from the team’s disappointing start. “I think we started off pretty badly,” he admitted.
Although he felt the team improved, the nature of the loss was particularly tough to take.
“In the same way that winning like this is the best feeling, I think it’s the worst to lose in this type of way,” Isak stated, referring to Estevao’s 95th-minute winner for Chelsea.
The result mirrored the previous weekend’s late collapse against Crystal Palace.
Despite the frustrating result, the Swedish international emphasized that the squad’s belief has not wavered. He pointed to the team’s character as a reason for optimism moving forward.
“No, I think the belief is there that we can,” Isak said.
“This team has shown that many times. It’s never easy of course, but hard work and working on details and getting back to our best – we have that belief”.
Isak, who assisted Cody Gakpo’s equalizer in the second half, also provided an update on his personal fitness. He is still working towards his best form after a disrupted pre-season with his former club.
“I feel good; I’ve been working hard to get back to my best and I’m still working to get to my best form,” he shared.
Liverpool now has the international break to regroup before a crucial match against Manchester United at Anfield, a fixture that offers the perfect opportunity to reset and return to winning ways.
