Manchester United are currently investing Alexis Sanchez for allegations of betting over Jose Mourinho’s future at the club.

Following the Portuguese’s sacking, Sanchez reportedly texted Marcos Rojo in the United squad group chat on WhatsApp which read – “I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k.”

The Red Devils higher authority has not taken lightly to the situation and has followed up with an investigation. It is understood that Sanchez could face dire consequences inclusive of a hefty fine.

The 29-year-old has scored just once in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho and lately did fall down the pecking order. He made his switch to Old Trafford a year back after feeling unsettled at Arsenal.

The Gunners were not willing to meet his contract demands and Arsene Wenger managed to receive Henrikh Mkhitaryan on an exchange deal.

Sanchez, despite being the highest paid player in the Premier League has struggled to meet expectations of the United faithful. Despite being given a fair chance to prove his worth, he has failed to replicate his dominant form that he so often showcased during his Arsenal days.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over as interim manager, it is still unclear how Sanchez will fare for United. However, there is a strict rule over players betting over teams or matches worldwide.
