West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has described West Ham’s current season as a disaster.

The Hammers were dumped out of the FA Cup on Sunday after a humiliating 5-0 defeat away at Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with more and more pressure heaping on Sam Allardyce.

Following the defeat, the Hammers boss came under critisism for fielding an inexperienced side, full of acadamy grauates in the defeat at the Championship side.

The Hammers are currently involved in a real relegation battle, and have only won one Premier League game from the last thirteen, and just three all season.

Allardyce spoke out in his interview, stating his side a shambles, and the current situation a disaster.

He said: “My hands are tied behind my back every time I see what’s available and the team is almost picking itself.

“It’s a disaster at the moment, a total disaster and in certain areas we’ve not been able to cope.”

The defeat compiles the misery for Allardyce – who is now under immense pressure – with the club sliding perilously into the relegation mix, with the Hammers having to travel to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.

Asked if he expected repercussions, he said: “There might be, who knows? It’s their decision, not mine.

“I’m not saying it won’t happen unless I start to get results. I have got to get results, I know that.”

Injuries and suspensions led to the West Ham manager handing debuts to several of the club’s youngsters – including Seb Lletget, Danny Whitehead and Callum Driver – as his second string were thumped by the East Midlands club.

The Hammers have also struggled all season with injuries and suspentions, with Andrew Carroll still not fit after months out, the Hammers also have a defensive injury crisis, and currently have a suspended captain, with Kevin Nolan banned for three more games.

West Ham face a few crunch games, with a League Cup tie away at high flyers Manchester City on Wednesday.

The 59-year-old said: “What choice did I have? I don’t think I had one.

“I make the decisions for benefit of everyone at the football club. We have a huge amount of problems in terms of available players.

“I picked the team so it’s my responsibility. You know what my priorities are: the priorities are the Premier League first and then Capital One Cup.”
