The Italian’s search for a number ten hots up

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has expressed his admiration for Chelsea and Manchester United playmakers Oscar and Angel Di Maria.

The Blues‘ attacking midfielder Oscar has emerged as a top transfer target for the Old Lady, as Allegri searches Europe for a top number ten.

However, in a recent interview Allegri admitted he also respects Angel Di Maria, who is reportedly unsettled at Manchester United after a poor season and could potentially leave Old Trafford for Bayern Munich.

‘It’s true that I asked for a number ten’

Despite the Juve boss talking up Di Maria’s ability, Italian media outlet Tuttosport claim that the Brazlian international Oscar is their main target.

When speaking to La Gazzetta dell Sport, Allegri said: “It’s true that I asked for a number ten, I like Oscar a lot. He’s a player who can make the difference on the European stage as well, which is great as it’s not a given that a great league player can perform in Europe.”

He also added: “I like him, but I also like Isco, Javier Pastore, Angel Di Maria and Toni Kroos. There aren’t many centre forwards in circulation. Mandzukic, Higuain maybe, but not many others.”
