Alvaro Morata has arrived in London today to finish up his £70million move  to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United were keen to sign the Real Madrid striker before they eventually turned to Romelu Lukaku.

However, Blues boss Antonio Conte has now finally landed his man, which is subject to Morata completing a medical.

And the fans are wondering what shirt number Morata is likely to take at Stamford Bridge, with one number standing out.

Number nine has been up for grabs since Radamel Falcao left the club last summer, having failed to hit expectations for Chelsea on loan.

The No 9 shirt has been a cursed one for the last 15 years, ever since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wore it with distinction between 2000 and 2004.

Since then though, Mateja Kezman, Hernan Crespo, Khalid Boulahrouz, Steve Sidwell, Franco Di Santo and Fernando Torres have all struggled to hold its weight.

The Blues are yet to announce which number Morata will take but seeing as though he will be their first-choice centre-forward this season the No 9 makes sense.
