Darren Anderton has claimed that Liverpool are not a better team than Tottenham.

The Reds are set to take on Spurs in their next match in the Premier League.

Former Tottenham Hotspur ace Darren Anderton has claimed that Spurs are as good a team as Liverpool. The Reds are set to take on the north London club in their next match in the Premier League as they look to gain pole position in the league table overturning the lead taken by the reigning champions Manchester City. Mauricio Pochettino’s men, on the other hand, would look to consolidate their position in the third place with a win in their next match against the Reds.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, the former Spurs ace said, “At times Liverpool’s forwards are unstoppable. But unfortunately for them they’ve had a little wobble, drawing games they were expected to win and Mohamed Salah is not quite at the level he was before.”

He added, “Sadio Mane though has been on fire these past few weeks and he’s the one who has kept them going. Roberto Firmino meanwhile is under-rated and so unselfish in his play. When I look at Liverpool I don’t see them being a better team than Spurs to be honest but they’ve done the business and got the points. They’re the ones who are still up there.”

Anderton also said, “I went to watch the game at Wembley earlier this season and Liverpool were by far the better team. No doubt about it they were different class and Spurs struggled to keep with them. But are they still at that level? Now, this weekend it could go either way with so much talent on display. There’s a great work ethic across both teams and it will be some battle. I’m looking forward to watching it, that’s for sure.”
