Leicester City midfielder Andy King has secured a loan move to Derby County on the deadline day.

The 28 year will spend the remaining season at Pride Park and will be a part of their promotional campaign. The Foxes youth product hasn’t really played much as Claude Puel hasn’t really preferred him and he would be hoping to revive his career under another legendary midfielder Frank Lampard.

Lampard took the charge of the Championship outfit at the start of this season and the club has done reasonably well as they are currently holding the final promotional place.

King was a pivotal part of Leicester’s historic Premier League winning campaign but hasn’t been able to maintain his growth properly.

The midfielder said, There was interest in the summer but for one reason or another it didn’t get done and again in January we’ve been trying to get it done – but I’m just delighted to be here now.

“The main thing was to get it over the line but we’ve managed to do that now.

“With the promotion push Derby County have got going on, I want to help them get back in the Premier League as soon as possible. I think with the new manager and the squad of players they have here then we have a good chance.

The lads have started the season well, they are in the mix and hopefully with a good second half of the season then hopefully it will be our year.”
