Argentine has admitted he wanted to stay at Real Madrid
Paris Saint-Germain star Angel Di Maria has revealed he never wanted to join Manchester United in the first place.
The Argentinian international left Real Madrid for Old Trafford back in the summer of 2014 after the Red Devils coughed up nearly £60million for him.
However, after just one season in the Premier League, he chose to leave when PSG offered United £44m.
The 27-year-old flopped in England and struggled to make an impact for Louis van Gaal‘s men, and he’s now revealed that he never wanted to join the club in the first place.
Di Maria also admitted that he was desperate to leave the club as quickly as possible.

He told Spanish newspaper Marca: “My intention was always to stay [at Madrid]. I don’t really know what happened on the inside [of the deal].
“These are things that representatives deal with. It happens in football.
“I started very well but then I had problems with people at the club, I started being left on the bench, then my home was robbed.
“It all just made me want to get out of there as quickly as possible.”
