Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has spoken of his admiration of Virgil van Dijk
The Blues came up against the defender as they beat Southampton 1-0
Van Dijk has also been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City
The Times recently reported Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are set to battle it out for the Netherlands international this January, and now Chelsea have been reported to be in the race as well.
Given their past interest, this could be possible, as reported by the Mirror, and Conte’s words of praise after their win against Southampton could be an indication that they could try again for him.
‘I don’t like to talk about other players,’ Conte is quoted in the Metro. ‘It’s a lack of respect for my players and other team.
‘He is a really good player, I wish him the best.’
