Antonio Conte has reportedly asked the Chelsea chiefs to sign Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva

According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, Conte is frustrated with the Blues lack of business in the transfer window, which has left him with a gaps in his squad.

Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata have arrived but the Chelsea boss wants more additions before the August 31 deadline.

Manchester United target Perisic and Candreva were on Chelsea’s radar earlier this summer.

And Conte has limited say on any transfers and appears to be determined to bring the duo to Stamford Bridge.

BeIN Sports correspondent Palmeri tweeted out: “Conte explicitly asked Chelsea to try to take Perisic, and to make another attempt for Candreva with Inter.”

Inter Milan may tie Perisic down to a new contract, with Manchester United failing to meet their €55m (£50m) asking price.

The Blues have enquired about Candreva and Conte admitted he is a fan of the Italy international.

He said: “It’s not correct to speak about the player of the other team.

“I know that this period is in the period of the transfer market.

“Candreva is Inter’s player and I have great respect for him, for his team and also for my players.”
