Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Antonio Conte has reportedly ended.
Gianluca Di Marzio claimed earlier on Thursday that negotiations over his contract fell apart.
Both parties had differences in the remuneration package offered by €3m. Conte apparently also wanted to bring in four staff members along with him. Tottenham could match his demands and decided to call it a day.
Antonio Conte wanted to bring more than 4 staff members to Tottenham, Spurs reluctant on this point. Salary proposal difference around €3m. Investments and project to win ‘as soon as possible’, another issue. That’s why talks with Conte have stalled – no agreement. ❌?? #THFC

Signing Conte would have been a huge boost for Tottenham. The North Londoners sacked Jose Mourinho after a disappointing campaign just over a year into his reign. Since dropping out on the Europa League, Spurs are also facing the danger of losing Harry Kane.
Perhaps signing a coach like Conte would have been the statement of intent the fans wanted to see. The Italian is a highly-rated boss, having ensured domestic success at each of the last three clubs he managed.
