Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted that the club needs more players.
As Chelsea prepare to enter into the Champions League next season, the Blues need to fill some gaps and Conte is prepared to bring in some reinforcements to the Bridge.
The Blues will be playing in four competitions next season, Conte is well aware his current squad is still a little too weak to compete across the four fronts.
However, Conte is already thinking ahead:
‘Don’t forget that Tottenham dropped out of the Champions League at the first group stage, and then dropped out in the first round of the Europa League (knock-out stage),’ he said.
‘If you consider the amount of our games and their games, there is a difference of what, eight games?
‘But if you consider the squads, the numbers in each squad, you can see the difference: one team prepared to play the Champions League with 25 or 26 players, and another who prepared to play the League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
‘Do we need more players? Yes for sure.’
The Blues play Middlesbrough tonight knowing that a win could bring them within just three points of sealing the title.
