The Blues boss has reportedly told John Obi Mikel that he can leave Stamford Bridge in January.
Mikel missed the start of the season due to representing Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic Games and has not featured in Conte’s side since returning from Rio De Janeiro.
Now, according to reports, Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has been told by Chelsea Football Club technical director Michael Emenalo that the midfielder has no future at the club.
“Talks were held between Mikel and the manager,” Own Goal Nigeria have quoted a source as saying.
“As for now he has been told he can leave in January, mind you his contract is set to expire in the summer.
“There’s every possibility for him to leave Chelsea either on loan or permanently in January but the summer looks more likely.
“Every story must have an end.
“After 11 seasons, Mikel wants to move on and so too Chelsea.”
