Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made it clear the squad missed Captain John Terry up back.

The Blues boss expressed his discontent at the side’s lack of organization following Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Dejan Lovren’s opened the account for the visitors as Chelsea were caught off guard at the back post from a set piece.

Blues Captain John Terry missed the game due to an ankle injury sustained at Swansea last weekend, which forced Conted to call up David Luiz to come in to make his second Chelsea debut.

Conte admitted that the 35-year-old’s absence was sorely missed.

“I think we missed the organisation [of Terry] in certain situations: free-kicks, throw-ins. You must pay attention,” Conte said.

“In the first half I must be honest, I think that we gave away two goals – the first after a free-kick that they took very quickly and the second after a throw-in, and Henderson received the ball free and shot from long distance, a great goal

“When you give away two goals in this way, I think it’s very difficult because against Liverpool you play with a great team, these are tough games and I think that you must pay attention in every moment, in every single minute of the game, every second, because the details make the difference.”
