The in-coming Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has targeted Real Madrid’s centre-back, Sergio Ramos, as his first summer signing.

Conte, who will take charge at Stamford Bridge after guiding his native Italy side to their European Championship campaign, the 46-year-old has earmarked the defender as a possible re-enforcement to his current playing squad.

Once he starts work as the Blues’ new manager in West London, Conte is expected to reshuffle the pack of Chelsea’s dwindling stars, who have struggled to replicate their form of last season, this time around.

According to reports within Spanish media publications, Ramos: who has been a Premier League target for several years now, is viewed as an ideal like-for-like replacement to the departing John Terry, who is to leave on a free-transfer in the summer months.

30-year-old Ramos was made Real Madrid captain at the beginning of the season, after the departure of goalkeeper, Iker Casillas to FC Porto.
