Italian wants to bring Walter Sabatini to Chelsea

Antonio Conte wants to shake the boardroom up at Chelsea Football Club should he get the job and he will do so by appointing Walter Sabatini as a sporting director.

The Italian has reportedly agreed a deal in principle with the Premier League club and he’s already working on potential transfers and also potential changes to be made around Stamford Bridge.

According to reports, he wants to approach AS Roma for their director and he wants to bring him to Chelsea.

Conte is currently Italy’s head-coach, but he has announced he will be leaving the post after the Euros in the summer, confirming he wants to return to club management.

Sporting Director an Issue

He has held two rounds of talks with Roman Abramovich according to reports, but asking for a sporting director has seemingly been a stumbling block.

Chelsea already have a technical director in Michael Emenalo, a figure who isn’t best liked across the Chelsea fanbase, and Abramovich is cautious about Conte bringing in his own officials to the club.
