Antonio Conte’s brother Daniele has said that Real Madrid have made no contact with the Italian about any managerial job. Conte is heavily linked to join Real Madrid if they sack Julen Lopetegui.
Real Madrid are currently undergoing a bizarre run of form and Lopetegui has come under tremendous criticism. There are several reports that claim Lopetegui will receive the sack if Real Madrid lose to Barcelona on Sunday. Given the fact that Barcelona have done really well in their last two matches against Inter Milan and Sevilla, there is a good chance that Los Blancos can taste defeat at Camp Nou on Sunday.
Real Madrid have reportedly already lined up a few replacements and Conte seems the frontrunner. Conte is currently without a club, having been sacked by Chelsea after they failed to secure a Champions League berth last season.
Daniele Conte has said that his brother is currently on holiday and Real Madrid have made no contact with him. He said, “Antonio is on holiday at the moment. He hasn’t received any phone call from Real. We can definitely say it’s a great club, but for now there’s been no contact.”
Sunday’s El Clasico is clearly a do or die game for Julen Lopetegui and it can also answer the question of whether Conte will come to Real Madrid.
