Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger thinks they just need to keep up the momentum to see out games.
Chelsea’s unbeaten streak got stuck as Tottenham Hotspur got the better of them in the London derby. Goals from Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son crashed an in-form Blues as Maurizio Sarri tasted his first defeat this season.
Chelsea shrugged off their Premier League disappointment and went on to thrash PAOK 4-0 in the Europa League. Sarri’s men now have a tough task to cut out as they are set to face Claudio Ranieri’s Fulham at the Stamford Bridge.
The Cottagers got back to winning ways in their last match and with a new manager in the dugout it won’t be an easy task for the Blues.
Rudiger said, ‘Just because of one game we don’t need to break our heads.
“We need to take positives because until that game we were still unbeaten and if anyone had said that this would happen, I think 90 per cent would have said “no”. So we just need to stay focused and try to make this not happen again.
“If we look back at this match many things didn’t go well, but there’s no use trying to look for excuses. It was a bad game and we need to learn from this because it was a huge lesson.
“Of course the manager was disappointed but that’s normal after such a game. At the end of the day we don’t want to lose games, but sometimes we do.”
