Brendan Rodgers is set to rekindle his interest in Atletico Madrid playmaker Arda Turan following the agreement for Luis Suarez to join Barcelona. Reports in Spain suggest that Diego Simone wants to sign Santi Cazorla from Arsenal but has to raise funds from somewhere to buy the Spaniard.

Liverpool have reportedly made an enquiry for the Turkish midfielder who is said to be keen on the move according to Eurosport Turkey. Atleti will reportedly let Turan leave if his buy out clause is met, however it is 40 million euros and Liverpool may be reluctant to meet that sum.

Turan’s agent Ahemt Bulut recently confirmed Liverpool’s interest in his client, ‘Arsenal and Liverpool? A destination in the Premier League would be to the liking of the player and I can confirm there are clubs interested, like the two mentioned.

Turan has never hid his desire to one day play for Liverpool and in an interview with Four-Four-Two he said, ‘Steven Gerrard is my hero, I love the history and tradition of Liverpool, the atmosphere at Anfield sends shivers down my spine.’

Will Turan be lining up at Anfield next season? We’ll just have to wait and see.
