Carl Jenkinson has put pen to paper at Emirates which will see him staying at the club until at least 2018. The young right back has signed a five-year contract extension at Arsenal to add to what has been a great week for the 20-year old.
Jenkinson had already been called up to the England squad for the first time for the Sweden friendly on Wednesday before finding out that he was set to be rewarded for his fine form with a new contract at the London side.
It has been a superb season so far for Carl Jenkinson who has featured in 12 Arsenal games already this year because of the injury to Bacary Sagna. Despite not having much Premier League experience, Jenkinson received a lot of praise from fans and pundits alike after some very impressive performances so far. His performances has made Sagna stand up and admit that he has a fight on his hands to be the number one right back and he also added that he believes Jenkinson could be one of the best in the world in future years.
It is reported that the new contract will see Jenkinson earn £32,000-a-week.
