Referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz handed out a World Cup record 17 yellow cards in the game, with the Spanish official now removed from FIFA’s tournament list, as tempers flared at full time.
“The previous game was played the way it had to be, from the perspective of both teams, the Netherlands and Argentina, and that’s football”, as per reports from The Guardian.

If Argentina finds a way past 2018 finalists Croatia, they will face either defending champions France, of semi-final debutants Morocco, in the final, on December 18.
