Arsene Wenger is set to table a summer bid for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy.

Wenger has been a long term admirer of the French striker, and could bid up to ÂŁ8 million or so for his services.

Remy, aged 27 is currently tied down to a massive deal at Queens Park Rangers, after signing for the club in the January of 2013, however, his six goals in 14 games could not keep the Loftus Road club in the Premier League.

The striker then spent a season on loan Newcastle United, scoring 14 goals in an impressive season at St James’ Park.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp stated that he feels Remy will move on, despite the R’s promotion to the Premier League, following a 1-0 win over Derby County at Wembley.

“I don’t see (Loic) Remy wanting to come back and play,” said Redknapp. “He’s talking about playing Champions League somewhere.

“I wouldn’t know what he’ll do, but I think he’s got a buy-out clause which is at a reasonable level.”
