Arsenal enquired about the availability of Chelsea star David Luiz during talks with the Blues regarding forward Olivier Giroud, according to reports.
The Gunners would rather not sell Giroud to a rival. But they’re aware that sanctioning the move will set off a chain of events that will finally see them land Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Antonio Conte‘s side are believed to be closing in on a deal for the Frenchman. Reports in Italy claiming Chelsea have agreed a £15m deal for the striker. But various reports suggest otherwise.
Arsenal expressed their interest in Luiz during discussions and even suggested including him in a deal for Giroud. However, Chelsea are unlikely to sanction Luiz’s departure to a direct rival. That could lead Arsenal back to West Brom ace Jonny Evans.
