Arsenal and Inter Milan are in a two-way fight for Hajduk Split sensation Nikola Vlasic.
Versatile 17-year-old Vlasic, adept at playing either in the centre of midfield or out on the wing, has been compared to Real Madrid’s former Tottenham siar and fellow Croatian Luka Modric.
The Croatia U18 starlet is the younger brother of world champion high jumper Blanka Vlasic, and became his club’s youngest European goalscorer after finding the back of the net in a Europa League qualifier against Dundalk in July.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also taking a look at another Croatian, Marcelo Brozovic, but is thought to prefer going after Vlasic, who would be a cheaper and younger option.
This year Vlasic made a list of the world’s top 40 footballers born in 1997, compiled by The Guardian.
