Arsenal and Liverpool eyeing £11m Gignac

Premier League duo, Arsenal and Liverpool, are both ready to launch £11million bids for Marseille striker, Andre-Pierre Gignac.

The French striker has been superb for his Ligue 1 club so far this season, scoring 10 goals in just 13 appearances, and his performances have caught the eye of both Arsene Wenger and Brendan Rodgers, as well as Russian side, Dynamo Moscow.

With the striker entering the final few months of his current contract, Gignac could hold official talks with the trio of clubs interested, and could even agree a contract in principle.

As it stands, the striker will leave Marseille in June on a free, and in January, he is free to talk with Arsenal, Liverpool and Moscow, and could accept an offer from any of the clubs ahead of the new season.

According to reports, both Arsenal and Liverpool are keen on landing the forward, but the 28-year-old is considering a move to Russia instead, with his former team-mate, Mathieu Valbuena, already playing out there.

It’s thought Gignac will join Moscow if the money is right, but if they aren’t offering enough, he will consider a move to England.

Despite just having months on his current contract left, Gignac’s agent has admitted that any potential deal in January will not be cheap.

“Given the fact that he is not very old, he has a real market value.

“This is a striker with a relatively atypical profile, responsive to the physical challenge, the archetypal player who can succeed at a big club.

“He can play in England, Arsenal or Liverpool, no problem. For me, it is between €12 million (£9.5m) and €15 million (£11m).”
