Arsenal and Liverpool have been given a boost in their chase for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, after the striker admitted he would be open to a Premier League move.

The 23 year-old has netted an impressive 19 times in 20 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit and has been attracting interest from major European clubs. His tremendous form has seen him light up France and now he is earning rave reviews, with numerous media outlets linking him with a Premier League switch.

The five times capped French international has been scouted by Arsenal and Liverpool, and they will be optimistic about their chances after his recent comments to Yahoo.

“Between England and Spain, I don’t have a preference,” said Lacazette, “I dreamt about Barca when I was little, but once you grow up you know you cannot be on just one club.

He then added “I will not be leaving for the sake of it, I have medium and long term aims, after that we will see what is best for me.”

Liverpool are in desperate need of a striker due to the constant injuries of Daniel Sturridge and the poor form of new signing Mario Balotelli and so Brendan Rodgers could make a move for the striker this January.
