Goncalo Guedes will cost English teams mega-bucks

Arsenal and Liverpool have been told that it will cost them £40million to sign Benfica star Goncalo Guedes, who is being dubbed the new Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 18-year-old has won the reputation after some dazzling displays for Benfica’s reserve team, and the pacy winger has already been monitored by The Gunners and Liverpool ahead of the Summer transfer window.

However, the Premier League duo will have to fork out big money to sign Guedes after he signed a new long-term deal in Portugal months ago with a release clause of £40m inserted.

Benfica are aware of the hot talent they have at their disposal and were desperate for him to commit his future by signing a new deal, and with the new release clause inserted, there is now no pressure for the Portuguese side to sell.

Guedes has made 26 appearances this season for the Benfica reserves, scoring seven along the way and assisted a further 12.
