Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester City are monitoring the current situation taking place in Spain regarding Iker Casillas’ future at Real Madrid, with both teams interested in making January moves for the goalkeeper.
The 32-year-old has been Madrid’s number-one for many years now, but after being dropped last season by Jose Mourinho, he has struggled to get back into the first team, even with Carlo Ancelotti now at the helm.
With the World Cup just months away, first-team football is a must for all players eyeing a place in their countries squad, and with that in mind, Casillas is contemplating a move away from the Bernabeu with the two English giants ready to make bids.
Diego Lopez is currently being used in goal for Madrid and as Manuel Pellegrini gets ever-more frustrated with Joe Hart, and Arsene Wenger in need for some good depth in his squad, a move to the Premier League could be in the near future for Spain’s current number-one.
