According to Sky Sports Sources, Arsenal and Schalke are currently in talks over a possible transfer for midfielder Julian Draxler.
The Gunners have been a long-term admirer of the 20-year-old attacking midfielder, and it is believed that Arsene Wenger is keen to develop him into a striker, much like he did with Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie.
At the beginning of the month, Schalke refused to discuss any possible move for Draxler, but over time, they have given it to the player’s demands who asked the club to try and push through the deal.
It is thought that the German side want around £37million for the midfielder, but Wenger is willing to pay up to £30million with add-ons added which will bring the price up over time.
