The FA has charged both Arsenal and Tottenham over unruly player behaviour in the North London derby.

The incident took place after Eric Dier scored the equaliser and celebrated with his teammates.

Both the North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged by the FA for not being able to control their players as both sets of players went onto creating a row following the celebrations by Eric Dier on the touchline after the Englishman scored the equaliser for Spurs at the half-hour mark. His celebrations allegedly angered the opposition players and there was a big turmoil as the managers had to intervene to get the game going.

In a statement released by the FA, the following was said, “Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged following their game. It is alleged that in the 32nd minute, they failed to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.” Both Arsenal and Tottenham have till Thursday to respond to the allegations.

It was a heavily contested game at the Emirates as the Arsenal striker scored a brace to see his side the first North London derby of the season along with Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira also adding to the scoreline to make it a memorable win for the Gunners. The visitors went up by 2-1 in the 34th minute via goals from Dier and Harry Kane but could not hold onto the lead.

The win also saw Arsenal progress ahead of their arch-rivals with 30 points from 14 matches as Unai Emery’s made it into the top four toppling Tottenham. They will take on Manchester United in a mega midweek clash while Tottenham will look to get back into the top four when they face Southampton, who are currently without a manager following the sacking of Mark Hughes.
